All eyes at the Luzhniki Stadium were on the Real Madrid star after his hat-trick in Portugal's opening game with Spain delighted audiences, and CR7 didn't disappoint anyone.
It took him only four minutes to make his mark in the way Morocco had feared, diving dearingly to get on the end of a Joao Moutinho cross and planted an unstoppable header into the net.
That goal by put the European champions on top of Group B, albeit for a brief period and extended his lead as the top scorer in the hunt for the Golden Boot.
As Spain beat Iran 1-0, it means that they top the group, thanks to a collation of  fewer disciplinary points than the Portuguese.
