Kylian Mbappe - Footballs' next big thing? Is he better than Walcott?

After bursting onto the scene in the '16/17 season for Monaco, teenager Kylian Mbappe played 29 league games and 9 in the Champions League, and scored 21 goals and attracted interest from nearly every "big" team across Europe, and drew comparisons to Thierry Henry.

In an in interesting, yet also very clever turn of events, Monaco, who won the Ligue 1 title, accepted a loan with a mandatory future fee clause of £128,000,000 from Paris Saint Germain. The bid came following the world record signing of Neymar from Barcelona, and PSG couldn't afford to sign Mbappe outright in the same season in order to comply with Financial Fair Play Rules.

If you didn't think it was possible for this teenage sensation to have a better season than his debut bow, think again as Mbappe performed another magical season on loan at PSG.

UK comedian Tez Ilyas rose an interesting point following France's 4-3 win over Argentina, where Mbappe was named Man of the Match and scored twice and won the penalty in a dominant performance for France.

As a teenager, Walcott teed himself up for greatness, and was English footballs' poster boy, he was called up by Sven Goran Erikksen for the 2006 World Cup, and despite not playing a game for the Three Lions, demonstrated what the nation anticipated was a sign for things to come.

Things were not to be for Theo as he never really became the player we expected him to be. Injuries hampered his career, and despite scoring over 100 goals for Arsenal, never really cemented his place in Gunners hearts.

Walcott departed his beloved Arsenal in January 2018 for fellow Premier League side Everton, for £20 million pounds, and did have a decent end to the season.
Hopefully the 29 year old has an injury free season for Everton and performs to what we expect of him.

Mbappe has already become the player England expected Walcott to be in 1 and a half seasons, and can only become better, we definitely have a future Ballon D'or winner in our midst.
