Chelsea 0-2 Man City

Sergio Aguero scored both Manchester City goals as the Champions beat FA Cup winners Chelsea to win the Community Shield on an excruciatingly hot day at Wembley.
City dominated the whole game and always looked comfortable, helped by Chelsea's inability to cause any real danger to the City defence.
Aguero's first goal, which was his 200th goal for the club, came after 13 minutes, when he collected the ball on the edge of the area after Phil Foden surged forward, and fired into the bottom corner past Caballero. City dominated the rest of the half and never appeared to be in any real danger. Callum Hudson-Odoi looked sharp and demonstrated a potentiality to cause a threat, by the opportunity never really arose for him in the first half. Ross Barkley also had a good game, despite his sides poor performance and certainly has made a case for himself to be in contention to be a first team regular for Chelsea.
New Chelsea signing Jorginho played some good balls, but was also sloppy and lost possession in dangerous areas. He certainly will take some time to adjust to the tempo of the Premier League and could be a quality player for Chelsea, as he proved to be in his Napoli career.
Aguero's second came shortly after the break, when he latched on to Bernardo Silva's pass and beat Willy Caballero with another precise low finish. Jorginho lost possession in his own half and certainly has to take some blame for the goal and his sides defeat.
Chelsea lacked a presence in attack and embarrassingly only mustered two shots on target, the highlight for the Blues being a long-range strike by 17-year-old Callum Hudson-Odoi which Claudio Bravo fumbled to safety.
The heat inside Wembley certainly made it difficult for either of the sides to sustain any sort of tempo, and Chelsea's lack of real energy could be down to that factor.
Players were allowed water breaks during the game, which was beneficial for both players and fans, who took the opportunity to get out of the sun and cool of in the concourse. Some City players sitting on the bench had wet towels over their heads to try to protect them from the intensity of the London sunshine.
Sarri was certainly without his best forward player, with Eden Hazard due back for post-World Cup pre-season training on Monday, amidst speculation Real Madrid want to sign him. Alvaro Morata was almost invisible on the pitch and contributed nothing to his sides performance. Second half substitute Tammy Abraham was marginally better, part of a half chance at the end of the game which he failed to convert, and with Giroud not back in the side following his World Cup glory, the calls for Chelsea to sign a striker became louder amongst fans.
City, who won last year's title by 19 points, were also without some of their stars - with Kevin de Bruyne, Raheem Sterling and David Silva all absent. However they produced a dominating, controlled and efficient performance to secure their third piece of silverware in the past six months. The worry for the rest of the Premier League is they have the appetite for more.
Following the appointment of Sarri, fans of the Premier League considered Chelsea to be dark horses for the league this year, yet the lacklustre performance proved that man for man , perhaps aside from Liverpool, City are miles ahead of the competition and should, barring a crisis, should retain the title.
Sergio Aguero - Man of the Match
Scorer of both goals, and a constant nuisance, Aguero certainly was todays best player.
