Saturday 1st September

Leicester City vs Liverpool

Liverpool come into this on the better form, with 9 points from a possible 9 to start the 2018/19 Premier League season.

After a rather harsh opening day defeat to Manchester United, Leicester won their next two games and sit pretty on 6 points from 3 games.

Following Thursday's UEFA Champions League Group Stage draw, seeing the Merseyside team pitted against Paris Saint Germain, Napoli and Red Star Belgrade, or the so called "group of death", last seasons finalists will definitely want to carry their Premier League form into Europe, and will also be desperate for their first ever Premier League title.

Prediction - Leicester 1-2 Liverpool

Brighton and Hove Albion vs Fulham

Both teams sit on 3 points from 3 games, which is a respectable return from these two teams.

Following last weekends' 4-2 victory over Burnley, confidence will certainly take Fulham to the Amex.

Brighton shocked Manchester United in the second game of the season with a 3-2 victory, yet suffered defeat to Liverpool 1-0 in game three.

This will certainly be a tight game, and with neither side having kept a clean sheet thus far, I expect goals in this one

Prediction - Brighton 2-2 Fulham

Chelsea vs AFC Bournemouth

Both sides go into this one undefeated so far into 2018/19, the Blues are 3 for 3, and Bournemouth have taken 7 points out of 9

In 6 Premier League meetings, surprisingly there have been no draws between these sides.

In their 2 victories in this tie, both Bournemouth wins have come at Stamford Bridge, and Chelsea only have 1 home win against Bournemouth.

Goals will also appear in this fixture and with 14 goals scored between these sides this season, this is a pretty safe bet. Chelsea should level up wins at the Bridge between these two sides, however it won't be an easy affair.

Prediction - Chelsea 3-1 Bournemouth

Crystal Palace vs Southampton

Neither of these sides have had the greatest start to the new season, and Southampton’s demise continues into this season.

Having survived by the slimmest of margins last year, the Saint’s decision to retain Mark Hughes was questioned by some people, and Sparky hasn’t delivered a victory this season.

Palace won their opening day derby against Fulham, yet followed it up with consecutive defeats 2-0, and 2-1 against Liverpool and Watford respectively.

So with these two sides coming into this fixture on fairly poor form any result wouldn’t be a surprise.

Southampton however don’t excite me and I fully anticipate them to get relegated this season.
The head to head doesn’t bode well for the Eagles, I predict that they will emerge victorious on Saturday.

Prediction – Palace 1-0 Southampton

Everton vs Huddersfield
Following their debut season in the Prem last year, the Terriers are 0-2 against Everton going into this encounter.
The Toffee’s concluded some genius business in the summer and certainly contended the throne of best business.

Winning each fixture 2-0 last year, Everton are certainly the favourites for this one, and have 5 points on the board, in comparison to Huddersfield’s sole 1 point, coming from a 0-0 draw with newly promoted Cardiff

Prediction – Everton 3-0 Huddersfield

West Ham United vs Wolves

West Ham are into their 3rdseason at the London Stadium and with a new manager and whole heap of new signings, fans hope the tides would change.

0 points from 3 games and sitting bottom of the league Hammers fans are yet again beginning to worry.

Premier League newboys Wolverhampton Wanderers were tipped for a continental push this year, and with two draws from three games, and a very good performance against holders Man City, Wolves can go into this one feeling confident.

Prediction - West Ham 1-2 Wolves

Manchester City vs Newcastle United

The late kick-off sees the Magpies travel down to Manchester to face the champions, fresh off the back of heartbreak against Chelsea at St James’s.

Having dropped points against Wolves, City will be desperate to get back to winning ways and are expected to do so against a fragile Newcastle side.

United haven’t won a game this season, and with a draw sandwiched between 2 defeats, Rafa’s side need to rack up some wins to kickstart their season properly

Prediction – Man City 4-1 Newcastle
