Premier League Matchweek 5 Saturday Preview

Premier League Matchweek 5 Preview

Tottenham vs Liverpool

Tottenham host Liverpool in Saturday's early kickoff at Wembley, and the Reds will want to continue their 100% form.  Spurs come back into the season from the international break following their defeat to Watford 2 weeks ago.

If Liverpool can make it five wins out of five, for what would be only the third time at the start of a season, then the talk about champions would begin to build. Tottenham will still hurt after their defeat at Watford, whilst Mauricio Pochettino has had to deal with numerous issues, from the malarkey surrounding their new stadium delays to Hugo Lloris’s drink-drive conviction. It could be a classic.

Prediction - Spurs 1-2 Liverpool

Bournemouth vs Leicester

Leicester City travel to the south coast, and the Vitality Stadium to face Bournemouth.

The Foxes haven't beaten their opponents of today in 6 Premier League encounters, drawing 5 and losing one game, yet both teams are quite even in the form table.

The season has started well for these sides, and could make for an interesting affair.

Prediction - Bournemouth 1-2 Leicester

Chelsea vs Cardiff

Promoted side Cardiff travel to Stamford Bridge for their 5th game of the season, and may have some belief in themselves considering how well they played against Arsenal.

Chelsea are one of 3 sides with a 100% record so far this season and will be wanting to carry that into this game. The Blue's will certainly be tipping themselves for a victory today, and their is talk about their chances of winning the league this season.

Cardiff's form is certainly something to have concerns about, but their is still a long way to go this season

Prediction - Chelsea 3-1 Cardiff

Huddersfield Town vs Crystal Palace

Neither side come into this one with great form, and that could end in two different kinds of game. It could be a fantastic end to end fixture, or it could be a complete dud, and there is certainly some fears about the later.

Huddersfield beat Palace in their first Premier League fixture last season 3-0 at Selhurst Park, as Palace beat Huddersfield away in the same season

Prediction - Huddersfield 1-1 Palace

Manchester City vs Fulham

Manchester City come into this game unbeaten in the league, and will be feeling positive despite a 1-1 draw with Wolves.

With the Champions League Group Stage kicking off next week, City will have to be focused against promoted Fulham

With a win and a draw  alongside 2 defeats,  Fulham's form has certainly picked up, and playing against Champions Man City they will need to be at their best to get a result.

Prediction - Man City 4-0 Fulham

Newcastle vs Arsenal

Newcastle United host Arsenal on Matchweek 5, and Newcastle won this fixture last season.

There is something of an inquest at St James's Park, with the Magpies taking 1 point from 4 games this season.

Following 2 defeats in 2 games against Man City and Chelsea respectively, its 2 wins on the bounce now for the Gunners.

Arsenal come into this the favourites, and lead the head to head, but with many of their first teamers returning from international duty this weak, there may well be heavy legs

Prediction - Newcastle 1-3 Arsenal

Watford vs Man United

If the Hornets secure victory on Saturday,  would mark a club record of five consecutive victories at the beginning of a league campaign.

Watford have however, lost 12 of their last 13 matches against Manchester United in the league, with their only win coming at Vicarage Road in September 2016.

Watford come into the game with the better form, 4 wins out of 4 for the hosts, whilst United have 2 wins and 2 draws from the first batch of games before the international break

Prediction - Watford 2-2 Manchester United
